It's Tea Time!

Hi everyone! It's my turn to post on the Maya Road blog today, so I decide to share a project using one of my favorite chipboard albums, the Tea Pot Chipboard Album

All patterned papers and stickers are from the Basic Grey Curio collection. Then pretty much everything else is by Maya Road. For more details click HERE! :)

Cash Please!

Hi all! Know anyone who just wants cash for Christmas? Well today I have a money holder / card idea to share with you. For this project I used the Little Black Dress 6x6 Paper Pad along with some other embellishments from the collection. The penguin design was sketched out first and then pieced together on some cardstock. I then added some stitched detail to the bird and around the pocket to hold it in place. The Printed Tissue Flower used on the hat, was a little big, so I removed the bottom layers and cut it down to fit.

SUPPLIES: [Little Black Dress] 6x6 Paper Pad, Brads and Buttons, Printed Tissue Flowers. [Nordic Holiday] NOR-3439 Sweater Weather, NOR-3465 Glitter Chipboard, MET-3460 Glazed Brads.

Another Monday

Hi everyone! Today I have two more Basic Grey projects to share with you. This first one is some wall art for my little girl's room.  Her favorite colors are pink and purple. So since her walls are pink, I played up the purple more. I used  the Indie Bloom collection this project. With the exception of the cream background on the "C" and "E" plaques, which is from Sweet Threads collection.

The 5" x 5" wood plaques were only about 99 cents each at Hobby Lobby. I completely cover them with patterned paper, then added some chipboard letters that had been covered with paper as well and stitched.

Then I used my Silhouette to cut out some leaves and roses. Add some picture hangers on the back of each plaque and they're ready to display!

My next project can be used as a memento box or gift box. I tried to make it for either a girl or a boy, as I made it for a call.  Either way I just LOVE the papers in Picadilly collection, don't you ?!!! :) I used 12" x 12" patterned papers and paper from the 6" x 6" paper pad on smaller sections.

The box is paper mache and I cut the little duck out of 3/4" wood.

Quack! quack! :)

Basic Grey Projects

Hi everyone! Before I get started I just want to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes yesterday.  My little girl asked me how old I was and I had to stop and think about it for a minute - I honestly had forgot. When I told her I was 43, she said I was joking (lol) - I usually tell her 21, but I figured it was time to tell her the truth! :)

Today I have a couple Basic Grey projects to share. The first one is an assignment I did for the BG blog last week.  The Curio collection, which is what I used on this project, is so pretty and perfect for Fall. For more details on how I created this cone, you can go HERE.

My next project is a quick and easy one! I found some paper mache ornaments at Hobby Lobby, and "dressed them up" using papers from the Little Black Dress 6x6 paper pad and some lovely felt blossoms. I really love these flowers! I think I'll need at least one in every color! :)

Begin by covering three alternate sides of the ornament with a solid patterned paper of your choice. As you can see from the photo below, the paper does have to be cut to the exact size, as the middle section will be covered.

Now use some tracing paper and trace the outline of one of the sides. Transfer the image into your patterned paper and cut it out. Cut out 2 more (3 total) so you have enough for each side.

Apply glue to the ornament surface and glue your cut paper piece into place. Repeat this step until the ornament is completely covered.

Next spray the ornament with a spray adhesive and coat with fine clear or translucent glitter. Allow to dry.

Next use a fast drying craft glue to adhere the blossom to the top of your ornament.

To hang my ornaments I have ordered some of these metal hooks, but you could easily thread some embroidery floss into the top of the flower and hang it that way.

Thanks for visiting. I'll be back very soon with some more Basic Grey!

Samantha Walker Creative Team Blog Hop!

Hello everyone and welcome to another Samantha Walker blog hop! :) If you just arrived from Jennifer's blog then you're right on track, if not you can can begin the hop at Samantha's blog HERE. Samantha will also have all the info on how to win one of her digital kits!

Today I have a simple altered project to share. I picked this wood cutout at Hobby Lobby recently and decided to use a mixture of Samantha's papers to alter it.

Here's a "before" shot of the piece, so you can see what it looked like. So I basically just took the whole thing apart and covered each piece with patterned paper and cardstock.

I then used my Silhouette to cut out 2 of the 1Piece Leaf Clusters from cardstock and glued them to the birds feathers, as seen below.

I then glued all my pieces back together, but before adhering the brim of the hat I attached a roughly pleated diecut border first.

Chipboard letters were covered with patterned papers from the 6x6 Orchard Harvest paper pad and then added to the sign. Berries, ribbon, brads, twine and trim were then used to embellish the rest of the piece.

Here's one last closeup of my little turkey before I go.

Thanks so much for visiting! Your next stop is to Guiseppa's blog.
