Scheme 5

For Yoooou This Christmas!!!

This was created for Scheme 5 over at Scrap Schemes, this time the challenge was for each designer to pick there own inspiration and create something.
I loved working with the Scenic Route "Loveland" collection so much on my last project, I decided to use it again. I made another Christmas project inspired by these adorable wooden animals by Kristy McIntosh. I loved the bright colors and wooden shapes. You can find more of Kristy's work here on Etsy.

40 Tweet Years!

Well, I made my 2-4-6-8 box using the template from 3D Design Challenge. These little boxes are kind of addictive, I already started two more!!! This one is for Gus, my neighbour to give to his wife with their 40th wedding anniversary gift.

Whoo's Ready For Snow!!!

......Not me, I just thought it would be a cute title.

For the "make it your own" assignment at Eyelets Etc. I decided to focus on a Christmas project. I've been dying to use these snowflake eyelets since I got my supplies and really wanted to do an ornament of some kind with them. This project was a lot of fun, very quick and easy to do!
(I actually used stamps for the leaves, but used the backside of the cardstock without the image because I thought the image was a little busy for this project.) Don't you love those little snowflakes, I added a bead to the center of each one to add a little dimension. The eyes of the owl are flower eyelets with brads and beads.

Supplies:
Eyelets Etc.: Cardstock, patterned paper and eyelets.

Stamps: Sassafras and Outline Rubber Stamp Company.

While I remember, Pam has just started a blog called 3D Design Challenge, it promises to be full of 3D challenges and inspiration. Right now they have a really cute 2-4-6-8 box template to work with. If you post your box to the site by Tuesday you could win a gift certificate to Creative Cuts and More. I have to get started on mine, it's going to be perfect for my neighbors anniversary gift.

Next up, Scrap Scheme #4.

The inspirational piece for this challenge was a picture frame. I knew I wanted to do a layout as I've been neglecting my photo pile lately and these pics of Jacob are so cute and I thought they would look kinda cool in black and white.

The journaling reads:

You looked so cute in your cowboy outfit I had to run and get the camera. But you wouldn't even crack a smile, all I could get was this stern look and the pouty lips. "I no take picture" you yelled at me. "Okay Jacob, no more pictures" I said reassuring you I was done for the day. I smiled to myself and thought "Man, you're ONE MEAN COWBOY!!!!!

Eyelets Etc. Sketch1

This my first assignment for the Eyelets Etc. DT. It's based on a fab sketch by Pam Smerker the design team coordinator. I used mainly the 8x8 cardstock and silver washers from my kit to create this little guy. It's suppose to be a robot but my little girl said it looked like a tent. Could be because she just got one and she's pretty excited about it, who knows!!! Anyway, I haven't done any boy cards in a while and when I saw the sketch it was the first thing that came to mind. Come over to the site and see what the other girls did. The sketch will be posted over at -Lets Blog tomorrow if you would like to play along too.

Have a great weekend,

Jen
