New Projects!

Hi everyone! I have a few new projects to share with you. These were all done for my Creative Team spotlight this month for Samantha Walker, and I have to say I had lots of fun creating them. One of my favorite things things to work with these days is fabric! I'm not that great at making clothing yet, but using fabric to alter with and make small projects is fun.  Anyway, if you've visited my blog before know I have a slight obsession with owls. So when I saw Samantha's Pet Shop file for the Silhouette, I knew I had to use it to create something.

I decided to just use the head of the owl to make a set of pillows for my little girl's room. The finished size is about 20"x11" on the big pillow and 17"x 8" on the smaller one. To make the pattern I used the sketch pen to draw the design with my Silhouette, onto cardstock. Because of the size of my pillows I had to do a section at a time then piece them together. I then transferred the design onto tracing paper added a seam allowance around the edge of head and used the pattern to cut my fabric.

I used felt for the head, eyes and beak and a mixture of patterned fabrics from Samantha's Wanna Be A Cowboy and Wanna Be  A Cowboy 2.

Next, I altered this little caddy. My son gave it to me for Christmas, filled with bubble-bath, lotion and a ton of other goodies for bath time (I think it was from Walmart). Originally it was plain pink and had a vinyl look to it, so I "spruced it up" with some fun fabrics from the Enchanted Garden collection.

I was thinking I might store my markers in it. But my little girl has got other ideas, since she has the same initials as I do!

For this project, I basically just used Mod Podge to adhere the fabric onto the caddy and chipboard letters.  The stitching was added to the letters and lining before they were adhered to the project.

For my last project I did another little bunny - It's Spring after all! :)

When I saw the pattern for this bunny head from Back Porch Pickins, just couldn't resist making it. Tonya Renee makes the most amazing creations that you can purchase.  She also has patterns and e-patterns that you can purchase as well. The head may look a little intimidating, but it's really not as difficult as it looks.

Samantha's Tea Dye fabric from Wanna Be A Cowboy 2 was the perfect color for the bunny's head. Since I didn't have a box, like the one shown on the pattern, I used a large paper mache Christmas ornament for the base instead. And yes I just realized I forgot to add her whiskers!!! Oh well, she's a "whiskerless" bunny for now!

The patterned papers are from the Creative ImaginationsCowgirl collection - an older line but definitely one of my favorites! See you all soon and thanks for stopping by!!!
