Hello Again!

Hello everyone, It feels so good to be back creating and blogging again after such a long hiatus. One of the main reasons I'm back is because I have rejoined the Maya Road design team. Yayyyyy! It seems I'm more creative with someone breathing down my neck. Ha! But seriously, I'm thrilled to be back with the MR family and sharing my projects with you. So let's start with this one first.

I love to create owls every so often. So when I saw the  Antique Mini Quill Feathers in my DT box, I couldn't resist. Here's how it was put together.

For this project two pages from the Pumpkin Squash Coaster were used, a die cut page and a solid one.The stem of the pumpkin was cut off from both pages, then they were covered with patterned paper. Two decorative scrolls were also covered with patterned paper, then the pieces were glued together. Some twine was attached around the edges of tummy area, as you can see in the finished piece above.

For each eye four Kraft Flowers were layered together. Since the flowers only come in two sizes, I trimmed two of the flowers, so I would have four different sizes. Large and small wood buttons were painted then glued together to create the eye.

After gluing the kraft flowers and eyes in place, a leaf shape was stamped onto some orange patterned paper, for the beak. A little 3D Crystal Lacquer was applied to make the beak shiney. The Antique Quills were attached behind the kraft flowers and a tuft of twine was attached, as well.

The Kraft clock was mounted to some chipboard, then embellished with a chipboard star and a smaller wood one, some twine, a few stamped leaves and a sticker. The owl and the clock pieces were then attached together using some chain and jump rings. One more antique quill was then attached to the bottom of the clock. Lastly, I glued some painted Wood Twigs behind the owl to rest on.
