Easter Busket!???

Hello again!  Sorry about the "busket" pun, but I couldn't resist. :) Today I'm sharing another CHA project, that I created for the Maya Road booth. This is actually a project I did for Halloween (you can see it here), but was asked to do another version of it for the show. Just by changing the papers and stickers, you can see how you get  a completely new look.
I would have filled the bus with chocolate carrots or mini eggs, but back in December when I created this, I couldn't find anything Easter related. Imagine!!! (lol)

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope your holiday season was a good one. While I have been absent from blogging, I have been working on projects for the CHA trade show that starts later this week. So I'll be sharing those with you real soon. The MR sneak peeks start today, so make sure to stop by the blog to check them out. You are going to LOVE all the new products being released.

Speaking of "checking things out" check out the new MR catalog, for the show. Angella Peardon designed this AWESOME camera using one the new MR chipboard albums. Don't you just love it!

Before I go, here's a project I did last month and forgot to post.

My First Kit

Hi guys! How have you been doing?  Enjoying your summer I hope! Just wanted jump on here and share a few projects since I haven't done that in quite a while!!! With the kids home from school, I have less time to create and even less time to blog!  Anyways.... I wanted to show you a peek of an album kit I designed for Maya Road. It's my first time designing a kit, so hopefully people will like them and want to buy them. The kit is loaded with MR goodies, of course and yummy Bella Blvd. patterned papers. Check out the info here.

Next up, I have another mini album. This one was done for CHA and I have more pics and details on the Maya Road DT blog.

Love the size of this one! - Not too big and not too small!

My last project for today is another CHA project.  This mini banner was created using Maya Road chipboard and the new Soar butterfly album.

Here are some close ups.

For products used on this project you can click here.

So that's it for me for today, but I'll be back with some more MR and Samantha Walker goodness soon.

Crazy Owl Love!

Hi guys! :)  Every CHA the girls on the Maya Road design team are asked to make a tag to display at the show booth.  This is what I came up with this time!

I used the new canvas Heart Coaster Album for the owl (and the heart seen above). I also used one of my favorite new stamp sets to create the little banner with my name on it. The chipboard leaves, tiny chipboard flowers and all the chipboard shapes used on the eyes are new too.

As you can see I used some of the Zipper Trim around the eyes and to make a small loop for hanging the project. Back soon with more projects.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Playing with Zippers!

Hi all!   I was out of town yesterday, so I didn't have time to let you know I posted this album on the Maya Road DT blog. The new Zipper Trim I used on this is really cool to play with.  I was sent about 10'' of each color (it comes in pink, brown, black, white and blue) and I used it all on the various projects I made. - Definitely on my shopping list of must haves!!! One thing I forgot to mention in my MR blog post, is that the white Zipper Trim's color can be changed easily using Maya Mist. Just spray on the color you want then quickly use a paper towel to wipe off the metal part of the zipper.

Here's a close up of the trim.  You can also see the new Chipboard Mini Scalloped shapes used on the center of the "P" and on the "A".  For more details on the album click HERE

Christmas in July!

Hi all! I'm back again with some more Maya Road CHA projects. I made about 4 Christmas projects for this show.  But, I'm just going to share two of them with you today.   I was given the Christmas Tree Layer Book and the Mini Christmas Tree Book to work with.  Although these do make adorable tree albums, they have been out a while, so I thought why not make something different out of them. Here's what I came up with....

This first project is an ornament. You can't see it but it has some twine in the back for hanging it to a tree. It's pretty simple to make, so it would be great for an ornament swap or gift.  As you can see I used one of the new doily transparencies for the wings. The satin trim on the skirt and small cream and brown organza flowers, for the sleeves and dress are also new.

The next angel is does take a lot more time than the first, but I love how she turned out. The new goodies on here are the trims, mini pennant banner pieces and the velvet jewel flowers.

I had taken photos of how I put this project together but my Mac died on me...... must have been the presure of CHA!!! :) Anyway, if there is an interest I may do another one for the DT blog.

Here are a few close ups.

All patterned paper is by Collage Press (Joyride collection)

Back soon with more CHA projects.

You're A Hoot!

Hi all,  If you have been following the Maya Road sneaks on their blog, then you will have already seen this guy.  I swear, I had made a promise to myself that I wouldn't make anymore owls............ not this year anyway!!! :)  But when I got the new new doily stamps and transparencies to play with, I just had to do it!!!  The body of the owl is made out of a MR Heart Keepsake Box flipped upside-down.  I've done a simple "how to" of this project and it should be in the Creative Corner soon.  I'll let you know when it's up, in case you want to try making one.

Before I go just a reminder to check out today's sneaks.  If you're a Maya Road fan you're going to LOVE all the new goodies!!! :)

Just Botty About Robots...!!!

My son has been bugging me for a while now, to make him a robot. So when I got the new Classic Label Coaster from Maya Road I thought why not get an assignment done and make him happy at the same time.

Almost everything on this project is made out of Maya Road chipboard. I took a quick picture of the main components before I started covering and putting everything together, so you could see how it was put together.

I layered and glued most of these pieces together to add some strength and dimension to the piece. You can see the layers in the close-up pictures below.

The head is made out of 3 of the new Classic Label Coasters

The hands are the bottom part of Mini Cupcakes

The sign is 3 pages of an album.

For his body I used another one of Maya Roads new releases, the Bird Cage Album, 2 pages

And the feet are also Classic Label Coasters that were cut in half.

The square in the background is a art wall board, that I covered with patterned paper. I got it from Dick Blick and it comes with a slot in the back, ready for hanging, which makes things easy.

Here are a few close ups of the project.
